‘We pretend, or maybe we just don’t know how to feel those other ‘bad emotions’. We don’t want to feel them, we don’t know how to feel them, we don’t know what we’re feeling, and it’s a real challenge. And we do say, ‘Yeah I’m good’, ‘Yeah I’m ok’, but in my experience everyone’s got something there on their chest that they need to get off. Everyone’s got some guilt and shame they’re carrying around that they don’t need to. Everyone’s got some sort of unworthiness issue, some element of being alone, and I could see that really clearly coming out the other side of that time when Jacko was 18 months. And I was like, we need to do something about this.’ ~ Sam Parker

Sam Parker is a loving father and husband. And, he is the accidental founder of the men’s health charity: ‘Grab Life By The Balls’.Sam is a passionate men’s health advocate, hell bent on bringing positive and proactive change to the health and well-being of males across the world. Don’t be fooled by Sam’s laidback, barefoot demeanour, he has a big heart, a big vision and the balls to match.
In honour of World Mental Health Day 2022 you will hear a remarkable man’s story from growing up in the country, to heading to a city boarding school to wanting to be a professional cricket player. Sam Parker has learned to trust the power of his journey, the highs and the lows, and through an amazing chiropractic community, deep personal growth work and constantly embodying his coaching and mentoring he has found himself running a not for profit charity called Grab Life By The Balls.
You will hear his passion and drive to support men to live their best life. This is a must-listen for all the men in our lives.

Thanks to her amazing upbringing with a very wholistic mother, Jess Holdsworth was blessed to grow up around nourishing food and organic farms, which meant organic, local and natural foods have always just been a part of who she is. Always curious and interested, even when she returned from overseas at 20years of age, after she had side-tracked somewhat, she found herself coming back to her roots. In this amazing podcast you will hear how important this way of being is for our health, wellbeing and our beautiful planet.
Jess Holdsworth’s first venture into the organic food industry was in Kiama where she saw a gap in the market to establish Heart and Sol Organics, a place where locals could buy organic products.
Jess has extensive experience running her own retail businesses and over the last eight years has expanded into organic manufacturing and importing with her own organic food company, Love My Earth.
Together Uwe and Jess are leaders in the organic food industry and are proud to be working closely to bring the Sunshine Coast community the best organic, local and natural products.
The Greensmith refers to the maker, the grower, the creator. The name Greensmith Grocers pays tribute to the roots and fruits of labour from the team to bring a standard of real food to the people.
Jess said being able to bring Greensmith Grocers to life was a lifelong passion coming to fruition.
Her definition of Self Love is:
For me self-love is taking time each day to look after myself. I know what it’s like to not be well or bit be in balance, and I know that is not how I want to live my life. I have always needed to experience the learnings myself. I know what it means to love myself, which is waking up every morning walking the beach, having cup of tea in bed with my wife and dog. It is gifting myself something that brings me joy every day.
Her final message is don’t wait to live the life that your heart truly desires, there is no time but this time. It’s time for us to step into the joy and trueness of our life. Just do it. Don’t be scared. Keep walking, believing and educating yourself and you will never look back.

Suzanne Bothamley is a proud mum of two adult sons Sam & Josh, and she lives in Horowhenua, New Zealand with her partner Steve and dog Toby on their lifestyle property ‘Bella’. Suz has been through many ups and downs, and had many opportunities for growth where she has had to train herself to get comfortable being uncomfortable. She has encapsulated all her life learnings into her business called BellaSQ wihch focuses on providing Health and Wellbeing information in the form of a Wellbeing Toolkit to support the health and wellbeing of employees. In this interview she shares her powerful story, how and why she came to understand the importance of selfcare, and her journey to now.
Suz’s career has spanned 30+ years in various roles and vocations. From sales, service, business development, HR, recruitment, operations and administration. Over sectors as varied as skincare to motor vehicles, the fish industry, apprenticeships and civil earthworks.
Suz shares many favourite tips which include delving into sleep, aromas, food, mindset, healthy language, choosing gratitude, breathwork and meditation.

‘And I think one of the reasons we don’t listen and act on those taps, and the whisper that turns into a roar, is because so many people very, very sadly have a belief that they are not worth taking care of. So, our beliefs are created from repetitive thoughts and if you’ve thought over and over again that you are not worth taking care of, or some version of that, you will literally believe it. And there’s a part of our brain called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) that just goes looking for evidence of what we believe is true, so it’s usually unconscious but we usually find evidence that we’re not worth taking care of, we find evidence of that everywhere if that’s a belief we have.”

She exudes beauty inside and out, and embodies everything she teaches around health and wellness. Oh 100%, I’m glad you said that mate, cos it’s like I’m talking about vibrations and woo hoo and all this stuff but it’s like, it can be misconstrued often is that there’s tremendous benefit to dropping into all of this and I think often because we are so conditioned in our life to do things… do, do, do, do, do… and like if I’m not having the relationship or the success, or the life… or whatever it is that I want then I need to do something else or I need to do more. Matt is a leader of the sound healing movement in Australia with over 15 years experience working with a variety of sound healing techniques bridging cultures and traditions from around the world.
Over the last five years, the reach of Matt’s work has stretched across Australia and beyond benefiting thousands of people around the world. This is accomplished through workshops, speaking at health and wellness events and festivals, as well as leading sound journeys in corporate settings.

Like the skin your hair reflects inner health and wellbeing. If you’re eating well, exercising and getting adequate sleep, chances are your hair will show this. However, many people find that having a ‘bad hair day’ can actually be a regular occurrence. If you care for your hair in the best way possible by carefully choosing products that serve your health, as well as being mindful of your diet and managing stress levels, then you are giving it the best chance for it to be your crowning glory.

If you are setting aside time to move your body, to eat nourishing amazing foods, to cook amazing food with your loved ones, to go out and have that coffee with your friends where you get to have that really connected catch up… this is discipline to your own health, your own mental health and your own cup, you are filling your cup up. And I think adding on that little bit of devotion, disciplined devotion, makes you want to do it even more, it makes the practice come easier. Well, I think discipline can have that connotation you are in trouble perhaps for some people, like when you were a kid you were disciplined, really rigid, no flexibility… but devotion feels loving and flexible. ~ Emma & Carla Papas
What an absolute delight to interview these two beautiful beings. Emma and Carla Papas are the Merrymaker Sisters, and they are quite literally changing the world as they themselves change. In this interview we hear their heartfelt and open viewpoints on their personal journey’s and how their business has literally grown up with them. They are talented, delightful, clever and beautiful souls who are living life out loud with infectious joy!
Here is a little info about these two special souls that they shared with me about their journey so far.
Yes! We are real-life sisters and no, our last name isn’t Merrymaker… it’s actually Papas.
No, we’re not twins, Emma is 2.5 years older than Carla.
Yes, we do fight occasionally, and yes we are actual best friends… and yes! We do work really well together.
Ok, glad we got that out of the way!
We started The Merrymaker Sisters as a hobby in 2013, it began as a blog to simply share our favourite healthy recipes, our thoughts on mindset, dieting, fitness and life in general.
If you’re wondering… Merrymaker means ‘to bring joy’ so that was always the mission (for us and for you).
One day while Carla was sick in bed getting over a botched up nose job (that’s a whole other story for another day) we came across the great philosophies of Joseph Campbell.
The term Follow Your Bliss stood out…
We realised The Merrymaker Sisters was our BLISS.
We understood that if we gave it more energy and attention it would only grow.
And yes, it was a big risk… but we gathered…
… the greater risk wasn’t to leave the ‘stable’ high paying Government jobs (we were on $80k each, pretty good for 22 and 24 year olds!)…
…the greater risk was staying in a mediocre job and ignoring our passion, our hearts and our bliss.
We both sent our resignation emails on the same day, at the exact same time and danced out of the office.
It’s been a wild ride since, filled with ups and downs, easy fun flowing moments to hard stressful days and a lot of WTAF moments.

Through our journey with Yoga, Pilates and Meditation we realised the only thing that truly mattered was how we felt about ourselves right NOW.
And not when we lost a specific number of kgs or fitted into that dress.
Yoga, Pilates and Meditation was the key to realising that right here, right now… we are absolutely, 100% enough (in fact… we are amazing… and you are too).

It’s living how you want to live.
